To put an end to this Thomas Jefferson put out the embargo act, which stop merchant from trading with the French, British and other country. This new laws would hurt the north economy because most of them are merchant and trader.

  1. On May 14, 1804 Lewis and Clark Journey began at the Missouri river.
  2. Jefferson hired Lewis and Clark to explore the new land, Louisiana purchase.
  3. Lewis and Clark follow the Missouri river to go west.
  4. The Missouri river is about 2,340 miles length.
  5. Most of Lewis and Clark adventure along the Missouri river the see a lot huge green land with herb of buffalo, and they called it the Great Plain field.
  6. Lewis and Clark encounter a group of Native American and they have a fight but the Journey still continued.
  7. Clark and Lewis spend a whole year with the Mandan Indian and they learn about the Indian history and west land.
  8. On Lewis and Clark adventure continued the Indian warned them about a bear that is powerful, Lewis got caught but Clark shoot the bear just in time.
  9. The Missouri River split and the two explorer go the opposite path. But they finally back at the GREAT FALL.
  10. After the Great Fall the explorer have to carry the boat and supplies on land by horse.
  11. The journey to explore the west have come the rocky mountain, the snow began to fall they ran out of foods but lucky they found some Nez Perce Indian who gave them fish and Roots to eat.
  12. Lewis and Clark reached the Columbia River in October 16, 1805.
  13. In December 1805, Lewis and Clark built Fort Clatsop, named after the local Indians.
  14. They waited for the whole winter then prepare for the returning trip.
  15. Lewis and Clark spend the spring and summer of 1806 returning home.
  16. They were attack by some Indian but they still get home safely and everyone welcome them as heroes.
